Hey there!

What’s the story behind Sonder?

We are two business partners that quickly became BFFS after working a BAJILLION weddings together! We teamed up and it was a huge hit for brides! Now we are going on 4 years shooting weddings as a team!

We chose the name Sonder because of the definition. (I won’t write it out here but you HAVE to Google the long version. It’s good!)

The short version is that it’s the realization that any random passerby has a life as vivid and complex as your own and that’s exactly what our job is, capturing your beautiful and complex life!

When we walk into a wedding, we consider it our goal to realize that you have aunts, uncles, friends, coworkers, and a whole amazing life you’ve created with all of your people. It’s our job to capture that.

We don’t want just a snap a smile-at-the-camera photo of you with your dad but to capture you getting down on the dance floor to the same Beatles song you danced with him to when you were 5.

It’s capturing moments like that....That’s the goal for Sonder!

MEET KAYLA

Hi! Kayla here!

I’m a Pacific Northwest girl through and through. I was born in Cali, raised in Washington, went to college in Oklahoma, spent some time in Utah and now we are back in Arizona!

I’m the momma to two crazy cute kids. On my days off you will catch me getting iced coffee, DIYing my home, hitting up some of my favorite local restaurants (foodie at heart) and hanging out with my people!

I have always loved taking pictures. In fact, my very first camera was a hot pink Barbie camera with a flashy diamond shutter button. I am proud to say that I am past my Barbie camera days.

My heart is happiest capturing connection. My goal is for you to walk away from your session thinking, “That was SO FUN!” If you aren’t laughing, kissing, booty bumping, and dancing the whole session then....(insert tik tok reference) “I don’t want it!”

MEET CAMARY

Hey! I’m Camary, but my friends call me Cam!

I was born in Salt Lake and raised in Idaho. I picked up a Camera one day and well...here we are!

I’m called mama by my greatest treasure...my Emmit! I’m a boy mom through and through. On my off days you’ll find me snow boarding, exploring outdoors, and hanging with my favorite people.

Creating films makes me happy but capturing who my couples are and telling their story sets my souls on fire. Anyone can make a slideshow from a wedding day and attach some music to it. I want you to relive those intimate moments on your wedding day that you will never get back. If I can catch a tear falling down your partners cheek, capture the amazing sunset behind your first kiss as bride and groom, dance with your guests to all the amazing wedding day playlists you put together and then stitch all those moments into an incredibly emotional film....I’ve done what makes me happy.
